and there’s still a possibility of a super-sized finale.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Still: B.J. Novak’s Surprise Appearance - Movie Fanatic
Guess what? Apparently B.J. Novak is in The Amazing Spider-Man 2!
Director Marc Webb broke the news over Twitter, on which he has been especially active lately. And he broke it in the form of this still.
The still was accompanied by the tweet, “Day 38. A supposed rumor about a Dunder-Mifflin takeover of Oscorp?” which is a reference to Novak’s TV show The Office. He also appeared in the 2009 film Inglorious Basterds.
Novak, whose role is unknown, joins Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Jamie Foxx (White House Down), Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, Shaielene Woodley (Divergent), Sally Field, and Martin Sheen.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently filming, and has a release date set for May 2, 2014.

At The Last Bookstore (453 South Spring St, Los Angeles), Wednesday December 19, 10:00pm, free of charge.
The actor, comedian, screenwriter and director (you know him as Kelly’s crush on The Office) is working on a collection of short stories and is bravely reading them to a drunk audience tonight. Complimentary adult beverages will be served at this 21-and-over event. Be among the first to preview Novak’s collection as he workshops his project after-hours on the Last Bookstore stage.
Kelly Kapoor and Ryan Howard are never ever ever getting back together — unless, of course, Greg Daniels has a secret plan to bring back the incredibly odd/amazingly awesome couple before The Office closes for good this May. (Please let him have a secret plan.) But there’s some very good news for fans of Kelly and Ryan alter egos Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak: Vulture has learned that Novak has booked a two-episode guest arc on Kaling’s first year Fox comedy The Mindy Project. And yes, sparks of the romantic variety shall fly.
According to a source, Novak will play Jamie, a potential love interest and “a charming Latin professor who bonds with Mindy over their love of a dead language.” Not much more is known about the plot, though we can report that Novak’s Jamie will have a friend named Lucy, who will be played by Susan Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri (Californication). It’s not too surprising that Novak is doing an on-camera turn on Mindy: In addition to being Kaling’s self-described best friend, he’s already been working on the show as a consulting producer. Look for his episodes to air early next year, to be followed shortly by a dramatic uptick in Ryan and Kelly fan fiction.

AURORA, Colo. (MarketWatch) — Most people become artists or actors so they don’t have to go to an office.
Not B.J. Novak.
He’s best known for playing Ryan on NBC’s hit comedy “The Office.” He also writes and has worked as an executive producer for this Emmy Award-winning “mockumentary,” which is now in its ninth and final season.
“’The Office” is such a bland environment,” Novak said. “It’s bleakness and despair.”
So why do people work in offices and then go home to watch “The Office” on TV?
One of the most common places they watch it is on a plane, Novak said. And when he’s seated beside someone watching it on a plane, he tries to freak them out: “I say, ‘Hey! Do you ever see this show? The place I work at is exactly like this.’”
Save the date: December 20, 2013!
BJ will be sharing original pieces of comedic fiction in advance of an upcoming collection at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena, California on Thursday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. More info here.
First I saw this tweet by his brother Lev (“Riff Raff just shouted out my brother who is now writing a book. @bjnovak leave something for me, okay? Do I have to start knitting?” - emphasis mine) and wasn’t sure what to think; I decided to hold off on reacting to it. But now in the description for this event, it says (again, emphasis mine): “Writer and actor B.J. Novak (The Office, Inglourious Basterds) shares original pieces of comedic fiction in advance of an upcoming collection.”
I should probably wait until it’s “officially” announced or something before I get excited, but… ahhhh I can’t help it, I am so excited!!!!
The essentials here: production on Saving Mr. Banks began today in Los Angeles, and is due to conclude around Thanksgiving. The best news here is that the planned release date for the film is now sometime in 2013, not 2014 like was previously reported. because they know that I am SO EXCITED to see BJ in this movie and cannot wait until 2014!
